It is announced for the information of prospective applicants and the general public that application forms for

Applicants with ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Certificates:

 Applicants must have credit passes (Grade 6) in five (5)
GCE Ordinary Level subjects in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and additional Mathematics and three.

GCE Advanced Level passes (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) in Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics.

International Applicants

International applicants from accredited/recognized institutions who satisfy any of the requirements or their
equivalent will be considered for admission.
Applicants with international Baccalaureate in science are eligible to apply. Such applicants must also possess a proficiency certificate in English. Please note that all certificates should be translated into English. Equivalences
with regard to the certificates would be sought at the National Accreditation Board by the University.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES

I. Applicants with SSSCE Certificate: Five passes (A-E) in all subjects including English Language, Mathematics
and Integrated Science.
II. Applicants with WASSCE Certificate: Five passes (A-E8) in all subjects including English Language,
Mathematics and Integrated Science.
III. Applicants with Ordinary Level Certificate: Candidates must have FIVE passes in all subjects of GCE O
Level including English Language, Mathematics and Science.
IV. Other Applicants: Candidates should be at least 20 years of age and should have any of the following: Diploma
in Business Studies (DBS), Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC), National Vocational and Technical
Institute (NVTI) Certificate, Technician Part I or II Certificate, Basic Education Certificate (BEC) or its
equivalent. In addition, the candidate must pass an interview conducted at the Department.

MODE OF APPLICATION

A. Ghanaian Applicants

i. Applicants are required to purchase the Online Admission E-voucher from any branch of GCB Bank, Access
Bank, Stanbic Bank, Zenith Bank, UBA, Ecobank, Fidelity Bank, Cal Bank and Post Offices in all Regional,

Municipal and District Capitals at the cost of Two Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢200.00) for BSc and One
Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GH¢150.00) for Certificate Programmes. The E-voucher will be used by the
applicant as the login details on www.admissions.umat.edu.gh
ii. The completed online application form should be printed and submitted with the relevant documents to the
address below.

B. International Applicants

International applicants should follow the steps below:
i. Applicants should fill in the online submission code request form at www.admissions.umat.edu.gh with a valid
mobile number format. E.g. 00233 becomes 233.
ii. You will receive the Serial Number and Personal Identification Number to access the online admission system
via email.
iii. Complete the online registration process.
iv. Print, sign and scan the completed form and add copies of relevant documents and send to the email address; admissions@umat.edu.gh

CLOSING DATE:

Completed application forms with relevant supporting documents must be returned to the

not later than December 16, 2022. Any applicant who
submits more than one set of forms shall be disqualified. Only completed applications shall be considered during
selection.
